“My favorite part of working for Pattern Energy is being in the community, seeing where there are needs, and being able to help meet them. When I make a donation for Pattern Energy, I get the satisfaction of seeing the impact those dollars make, and it makes me proud to work for a good, ethical company.”
Carrie Kline is the Site Logistics Coordinator (SLC) for Amazon Wind-Fowler Ridge, and it is safe to say she has a great life. So great that she missed our initial appointment for this interview and told me, “We just had a baby in the family, and I forgot our appointment!”
New babies in the family? Always an acceptable excuse to miss well, anything, really.

Carrie got her start working for utility companies, which helped pay her way through school and led her to her current role. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Indiana Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in executive development for public service from Ball State University.
“I ended up working for three different utility companies in energy distribution,” she said. “In my more recent role, I was a project manager with an electrical contractor, and I had always been interested in the production side of energy, and very interested in renewables.”
When the SLC position at Pattern Energy became available in her region, she was excited for the opportunity and now has the role.
In her day to day, Carrie gets to interact with many in the community. She handles distribution of community giving funds from Pattern Energy, and she especially enjoys seeing the impact it makes.
“I have a wonderful relationship with the Benton Community Foundation, and Andrea Bowman is great,” Carrie said. “They always have their finger on the pulse of community needs and share great ideas with us.”

Personal life
“My husband Joe and I have been married since 2006, and we have four daughters in our blended family: Melissa, Emily, Bethany, and Lilli,” said Carrie.
While the pandemic has been a challenge for everyone, there have been blessings for their family. “My daughter just had a baby in December, so now there are six grandkids,” she told me with a laugh, “plus a lazy cockapoo named Toby, and two outdoor cats that keep the pests out of our home.”
At 14, Lilli is the last child still at home, and Carrie said the family enjoys traveling a lot. Last summer they were in New Hampshire and Maine, and this year they have a particularly exciting vacation planned: “We are going on a space vacation! We’re headed to Cape Canaveral in Florida, and the Johnson Space Center in Houston. We’re all pretty excited,” she said.
It isn’t all just traveling. Carrie and her husband also enjoy ballroom dancing, and Carrie is an avid gardener in the summer months.
Looking ahead
“I would say life is pretty great right now. Our family has had three new babies, we’re planning a fun vacation, and I have a great career working with people I like.”
