“On behalf of Mayor Don McPherson, Council and the citizens of the District of Tumbler Ridge we extend to Pattern Energy and its employees a most heartfelt thank you. Your selfless efforts make Tumbler Ridge a better place for all. Your contribution to community is amazing”, stated Councillor Will Howe.
Howe went on to state, “Pattern also supports the five area First Nation bands by providing scholarship funding. Pattern supports Canada Day celebrations and the Tumbler Ridge District Library Summer Learn to Read Program where over 200 area children learn how to read. The high school graduating class, elementary school, and the Tumbler Ridge Seniors Centre receive support. Including Rangers, Preschool Association, Search and Rescue, Wolverine Nordic Mountain Society, Geo Park, Museum, Bat Week, Pat O’Reilly Outdoor Centre, Old Timer’s Hockey and the Grizzly Valley Saddle Club. Scholarships are also provided to Northern Lights College wind tech program”.
Pattern hosts the Tumbler Ridge Mother’s Day brunch. “Basically the whole town attends”, stated Councillor Krakowka.
John Martinez and Ryan Pierce accepted the honor on behalf of Pattern Energy. The plaque is to be displayed at the Houston Operations Centre.
