The Ocotillo Wind Imperial Valley Fund is accepting grant applications from qualified organizations through March 17, 2023. The Fund supports new and existing programs that improve the quality of life of Imperial Valley residents and communities. Grants are available to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, public institutions, schools and school districts, and other entities with a designated charitable purpose.
Organizations working in the Imperial Valley on a topic that fits within one or more of the Fund’s priorities are welcome to apply. The Fund’s priorities include the following:
- Civic engagement
- Economic workforce and development
- Youth education, recreation and safety
- Disaster recovery and emergency preparedness
- Health and wellness
The Ocotillo Wind Imperial Valley Fund has operated since 2014 with funding from Pattern Energy’s Ocotillo Wind facility. Previous grant recipients have represented a broad range of institutions dedicated to enhancing life in the area. They include the San Diego and Imperial Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Imperial County Historical Society, the Imperial County Child Abuse Prevention council, and Imperial Valley BMX.
