Johnny Wayne Lloyd

As I have journeyed along the trail of life, it has taken unexpected twists, turns and challenges. I’ve found joy in unexpected places, and hardship in ways I never anticipated. I’m sure you have as well.

I’ve met a lot of people on my journey, and think the most interesting people, the ones with stories to tell, are those souls that looked at the world, looked at the “usual way” of doing things, and said, “No, thank you, not for me.”

I’m talking about the dreamers- people who don’t subscribe to the usual path, people who are artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, nomads, writers, (sometimes) even politicians trying to make real change.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with living a “normal life,” (if there is such a thing), but the reason people are drawn to these individuals is precisely because they are different, and that makes them interesting.

New Mexico, I’d like to introduce you to one of those people: Johnny Wayne Lloyd.

I drove up to Santa Fe, wore my mask, and thought I’d see what the plaza was like in the time of social distancing.

There were a few people out, but it was mostly empty. A few cars would go by, and then there wouldn’t be any for awhile- a far cry from my first visit to Santa Fe when the plaza was jammed with tourists.

I’ll let Johnny tell you how he came to New Mexico:

Johnny plays in musical venues, but he also loves playing out in the street, so he decided to come out and spread some joy, and we decided to shoot a music video- you’ll have to forgive some of the shakier parts as I avoided cars, but I think you’ll agree- New Mexico is lucky to have Johnny Wayne Lloyd.
