K2 Wind is a joint venture between Pattern Energy, Axium Infrastructure Inc. and Capital Power Corporation. The 270 MW wind power facility is located in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh (ACW) and commenced commercial operations in June 2015. The project sells 100% of its electrical output and environmental attributes under a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).

K2 Wind consists of 140 2.3 MW Siemens Energy wind turbines.The wind turbine blades were manufactured by Siemens in Tillsonburg, Ontario and the towers were manufactured by CS Wind in Windsor, Ontario.
Construction of the K2 Wind project began in early 2014. Local subcontractors were involved in all aspects of project construction – from building access roads, laying rebar, and pouring concrete to installing the Ontario-made wind turbines.
