On the eastern border of New Mexico sits Pattern’s Broadview Wind and Grady Wind facilities. Better known collectively as Broadview & Grady, these facilities are more than energy producers—they are active community partners and have been for nearly a decade.
Broadview & Grady Wind is located on the New Mexico-Texas border and together, the two facilities generate 869 megawatts of reliable domestic power every year, while contributing $37 million in tax revenue that directly supports local schools and benefits the broader community.
The impact from the tax and landowner payments made by these projects does not account for the funding that Pattern Energy sets aside to support the community every year. At the helm of managing Broadview & Grady’s community engagement, including sponsorships and donations, are two incredible women: Chelsea Abner, Facility Manager for Broadview & Grady Wind and Martina Rusk, Lead Site Logistics Coordinator.
“Pattern continuously shows their long-term commitments to meeting the needs of the greatest part of the community here,” says Chelsea. “You know, I’ve worked with a lot of companies that are there for the short-term benefits in my career, but the reality is that Pattern is looking to be here in New Mexico for decades to come, so the reality with that is trying to build long term partnerships.”
