For the team at Lanfine Wind, 2024 is a chance to celebrate important milestones. In July the team marked the facility’s first anniversary of operations. In August, they were happy to celebrate the first round of grants presented through the Lanfine Wind Community Grant.
During an event on August 27, 65 guests, landowners, and community representatives gathered to award funds to several local groups and nonprofit organizations.
As reported in the Oyen Echo, the Oyen Childcare Society received $5,000 to purchase additional outdoor play equipment, landscaping, and new sleep mats. The New Brigden Community Association received $7,640 for new electrical services, and the Acadia Valley Sunset Club was presented with a cheque for $1,860 to replace the concrete sidewalk at its main entrance.
Another $7,500 was given to the Youngstown and District Community Centre for a new ice plant compressor at the recreation centre.
The Lanfine Wind Community Grant is administered through the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the generosity and foresight of Pattern Energy, which makes these grants possible,” said Helene Nicolson, Regional Development Coordinator of the CFSEA.
Congratulations to all of the recipients. Pattern Energy is thankful for your commitment to the local community.
