Phoenix Solar is creating economic benefits for Fannin County, while providing affordable, clean, and renewable electricity for Texas at times when it is needed most.
The facility began commercial operations in October of 2021 and utilizes about 240,000 American-made First Solar Series 6 modules to generate electricity equal to the needs of more than 50,000 people each year. Digital Realty places a priority on sourcing net-new renewables near their data centers and has a 65 MWac, 12-year power purchase agreement with the site.
Project construction commenced in 2020 and involved more than 200 workers on-site. Mortenson Construction provided engineering and construction services.
Phoenix Solar will continue creating economic benefits for Fannin County during operations through new tax revenue estimated at more than $12 million to the Bonham Independent School District and more than $3 million to Fannin County.
