Today, we\u2019d like to introduce you to Tom Ashby, the Assistant Facility Manager for Spring Valley Wind.\u00a0<\/p> \n \n

\u00bfDe d\u00f3nde es usted?<\/strong> <\/h2> \n \n

\u00abNac\u00ed y crec\u00ed en Ely y luego me mov\u00ed por el Oeste durante a\u00f1os en mi carrera. Me incorpor\u00e9 a Pattern Energy en 2012 y llevo en Spring Valley Wind desde entonces. Soy el director adjunto de instalaciones y es genial estar aqu\u00ed\u00bb. <\/p> \n \n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 tama\u00f1o tiene el equipo aqu\u00ed?<\/strong><\/h2> \n \n

\u00abTenemos un Director de Instalaciones, Jeff Holbrook, nuestra Coordinadora de Log\u00edstica de Instalaciones es Norma Mardue\u00f1o, y hay ocho t\u00e9cnicos e\u00f3licos trabajando con nosotros\u00bb. <\/p> \n \n

\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la mayor sorpresa que se ha encontrado como profesional del viento en el lugar donde creci\u00f3?<\/h2> \n \n

\u00abAl crecer no ten\u00eda ni idea, pero tenemos una poblaci\u00f3n de murci\u00e9lagos mexicanos de cola libre que viven en una cueva cerca del parque e\u00f3lico. Ha sido fascinante aprender sobre ellos.Tambi\u00e9n aprecio el compromiso de Pattern Energy con sus principios y con el medio ambiente. Cuando eres de un lugar como Ely tiendes a amar el aire libre.Aqu\u00ed, en el condado de White Pine, tenemos una poblaci\u00f3n de los murci\u00e9lagos mexicanos de cola libre que he mencionado.Este mes de julio, comprobar\u00e9 nuestros sensores que detectan la densidad de murci\u00e9lagos. Reducimos la velocidad de las turbinas por la noche, cuando sabemos que van a volar. Pattern Energy obtiene menos ingresos, obviamente, pero nuestros principios importan, y la protecci\u00f3n del medio ambiente nos importa a todos.Se lo digo a todo el mundo: Este es mi patio trasero y me importa lo que pase aqu\u00ed. Soy un amante de la naturaleza y todo- las \u00e1guilas reales, los conejos, los murci\u00e9lagos…. todo. Todo eso importa\u00bb.<\/p> \n \n

\u00bfTienes familia?<\/h2> \n \n

\u00ab\u00a1Gracias por preguntar! Me cas\u00e9 con mi bella esposa Natalie en junio. Creci\u00f3 en Mosc\u00fa, Rusia, pero nos conocimos en Las Vegas, donde viven dos de sus hijos adultos.Entre los dos tenemos seis hijos y ocho nietos repartidos por Las Vegas y el sur de Idaho\u00bb. <\/p> \n \n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 es lo mejor de trabajar para Pattern?<\/strong><\/h2> \n \n

\u00abComo ya he dicho, soy un amante de la naturaleza. Soy cazador con arco, colaboro con grupos conservacionistas y me preocupo por la naturaleza. Los cazadores se preocupan por el medio ambiente y son guardianes de la tierra, por eso hablamos de los murci\u00e9lagos. Aqu\u00ed todo est\u00e1 conectado.En Pattern Energy, mi trabajo diario es muy variado. Un d\u00eda es algo el\u00e9ctrico, al d\u00eda siguiente es mec\u00e1nico. Me gusta aprender cosas nuevas, y eso mantiene el inter\u00e9s.Tambi\u00e9n me encanta la gente. Nunca he trabajado en una empresa en la que la gente haga lo que dice. Todos, desde el Consejero Delegado, Mike Garland, a los directores de las instalaciones, pasando por los t\u00e9cnicos e\u00f3licos. Aqu\u00ed se respeta y valora a todo el mundo, y se preocupan por la tierra en la que operan\u00bb. <\/p> \n \n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 hace para divertirse?<\/h2> \n \n

\u00abPor si a\u00fan no te has dado cuenta, me encanta la naturaleza\u00bb. (Ambos nos re\u00edmos). \u00abNatalie y yo somos gente de aire libre, y nos gusta montar en quad, ir en moto de nieve, acampar a caballo y mucho m\u00e1s.Tenemos dos hect\u00e1reas y media en las afueras de la ciudad y nos encanta. Como la pandemia empieza a estar bajo control, estamos deseando ver a la familia m\u00e1s a menudo.Pertenezco a varias organizaciones dedicadas a proteger humedales, entornos en peligro y h\u00e1bitats animales. Todo importa: las especies no cineg\u00e9ticas se benefician junto con las cineg\u00e9ticas. Todos ganamos cuando se cuida el medio ambiente, \u00a1y disfrutamos pasando nuestro tiempo en \u00e9l!\u00bb.<\/p> \n \n
